The Common Dental Council (GDC) has printed its 2024 annual report on whistleblowing disclosures in dentistry.
From 01 April 2023 to 31 March 2024 the GDC obtained 79 disclosures of knowledge. This compares to 82 within the earlier yr.
Regulatory motion was taken in 64 of the incidences (81%), specifically the opening of a health to practise case. No motion was taken within the remaining 15 because of a ignorance.

The GDC says 37 of the issues have been obtained from dental professionals, 22 have been from non-registrants (who have been employed in dentistry) and 20 have been nameless.
